Born
in
Billings,
Montana,
in
1964
he
is
now
living
in
Burbank,
California. In 1990 Walks received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Montana State University and celebrated the birth of his son, Matthew. In the years since, he has worked for a variety of clients including Marvel Comics, D.C Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Golden Books, Amazing Stories, LucasFilm LTD, McGraw Hill, Sipder, Star Wars INsider, Topps Company and Warner Books. His personal work has garnered both regional and national acclaim, and hangs in private collections throughout the United States. "Star Wars affected me in a way that nothing else had," said Walks. "The characters, situations, and music in that movie struck a chord in me so strong that even today, twenty-two years later, the smell of theater popcorn reminds me of the afternoon I saw Star Wars." Walks has created numerous pieces for Lucasfilm licensees, including the Star Wars 25th Anniversary poster. |
