PAUL R. GAGNE is Weston Woods Studios' most prolific producer/director of films
and videos based on children's books. For over twenty-five years he has been
collaborating with some of the best-known and most well-respected actors and
actresses, composers and children's book authors and illustrators, receiving
numerous awards and honors for his work.
He is a seven-time winner of the American Library Association's prestigious
Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Children's Video, for the films THE MAN
WHO WALKED BETWEEN THE TOWERS (2006), THE DOT (2005), GIGGLE, GIGGLE, QUACK
(2004), SO YOU WANT TO BE PRESIDENT? (2003), ANTARCTIC ANTICS (2001), MISS
NELSON HAS A FIELD DAY (2000) and OWEN (1996).
Other recent honors include a lifetime achievement tribute at the USA Film
Festival's KidFilm Festival in Dallas, TX, and an honorary Doctor of Humane
Letters degree from St. Joseph's College in West Hartford, CT. Paul has written
many articles on feature film productions for Cinefantastique magazine and other
publications, as well as a book on the career of film director George A. Romero
published by Dodd, Mead & Co. in 1987. He lives in West Haven, CT with his wife,
Lynn, and their two daughters.
