	ADULT SUMMER READING CSLP is pleased to offer this special section on Adult Summer Reading for its membership. The section includes resources and activities that focus on unique programs that work with adult library patrons during the summer. Included are sample adult summer reading programs, sites to assist in adult programming and general resources for working with adults. We hope you find it useful in your work with this summer’s program. Adult Programming in Libraries Adult Programming Ideas A variety of programming ideas are listed in five main areas; 21st Century Literacy, Diversity, Education and Continuous Learning, Equity of Access, and Intellectual Freedom – ALA. 101 Ideas for Serving the Impaired Elderly Ideas and models for serving the elderly in nursing homes and other care facilities. Excerpt from an out-of-print ASCLA publication. 2008 Adult Summer Reading - Michigan Center for the Book "Pollinate Your Mind" bookmarks; a spin-off of the bug theme for adults. Bookmarks feature different categories such as Garden Science, Garden Fiction, Garden Mysteries Sample Adult Summer Reading Programs Adult Summer Reading Programs Resources on adult summer reading from Mid Hudson Library System (New York). Includes basic program ideas, titles, prizes, registration, and benefits of adult summer reading programs. Brooklyn Public Library Patrons ages seventeen and up are invited to sign up for Adult Summer Reading at BPL. Includes fiction and nonfiction suggestions and book reviews by patrons. Seattle Public Library Seattle’s Adult Summer Reading program, “Step Into Reading”. Participants have their choice of a variety of themes and the chance to earn a Literary Latte. One lucky adult reader wins a Booklover's Basket, which includes coffee, tea, chocolate, a Library mug, and a new book. General Adult Programming Resources BiFolkal Kits for Adults BiFolkal kits are a great way to bring senior adults and young people together to reminisce and learn together. Book Clubs Online Resource Complete guide to book clubs and reading groups with an outstanding collection of links and information for readers, including information about saving with discount book clubs.
