CSLP is pleased to offer this special section on Adult Summer Reading for its membership. The section includes resources and activities that focus on unique programs that work with adult library patrons during the summer. Included are sample adult summer reading programs, sites to assist in adult programming and general resources for working with adults. We hope you find it useful in your work with this summer’s program.

Adult Summer Reading Programs
Resources on adult summer reading from Mid Hudson Library System (New York). Includes basic program ideas, titles, prizes, registration, and benefits of adult summer reading programs.

Brooklyn Public Library
Patrons ages seventeen and up are invited to sign up for Adult Summer Reading at BPL. Includes fiction and nonfiction suggestions and book reviews by patrons.

Seattle Public Library
Seattle’s Adult Summer Reading program, “Step Into Reading”. Participants have their choice of a variety of themes and the chance to earn a Literary Latte. One lucky adult reader wins a Booklover's Basket, which includes coffee, tea, chocolate, a Library mug, and a new book.
