The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) is looking for Resources, Allies, and Partners to promote early literacy, summer learning and other common goals. CSLP represents a network of more than 16,000 public libraries through individual state representation. Opportunities for partnership with CSLP, which benefit both parties, are detailed below.

  • Author spokesperson (Summer Reading Ambassador)

Publishers and booksellers have contacts with nationally-known authors whose voice will encourage children to read over the summer; encourage parents to read to their children and generally promote literacy and summer learning. Ambassadors will be asked to tape a short PSA video, be featured on the CSLP website, speak or be present at some events and help CSLP in other ways.

  • Annual Meeting Sponsor

CSLP holds an annual meeting attracting state representatives from across the country. With more than 100 attendees and plenty of work to do, this four-day meeting costs $120,000. CSLP is looking for sponsors to fund this event. Sponsors will be listed and honored according to their support.

  • Manual Sponsor

CSLP authors a professional summer reading manual for its children, teen and adult programs, which is then distributed to its member libraries. The manual is professionally produced with input from the most experienced librarians from around the country. It is well-used and offers a plethora of programming plans that can be used year-round. The full production cost annually is $165,000. It can be broken down by age (as in early literacy, children, teens, adults) for specific support or other aspects of production can be supported, such as artist fee, printing, shipping, etc. Sponsors will be listed on the manual and website according to their support level.

  • Other opportunities

Other opportunities for investment include gifts to CSLP for operating expenses, such as other meeting expenses, travel, public relations, etc. Investors in this category will be listed on the website and possibly promoted in other ways, dependent on the level of investment.
