The Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization where collaboration is key! We’ve been doing the work of providing great summer programming resources since 1987. Your library can feel good about spending with CSLP. We pour any profit right back into making summer reading programs great at public libraries nationwide – and beyond. Our leadership—including the Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, State Representatives, and Committee Members—consist of volunteer library staff from across the country. We are a membership-driven organization, where everyone has the opportunity to participate and shape the future of summer programming. If you are a public library in a non-member state, we hope you will join us!
FAQs
How long can I use the artwork and slogans?
With the 2017 program, Build a Better World, CSLP changed the way it acquired artwork for its programs. CSLP now fully owns the artwork and makes it available to its member libraries in our Summer Program Archives. Your current year’s manual access code will get you access to the archive. All artwork and slogans from 2017 forward may be used year round.
So go ahead and use CSLP artwork to create the visual look for that winter program you have been thinking about!
How do I access the manual?
CSLP uses an “access code” authentication method to provide access to the manual.
If you’re in a member state, your manual access code will be sent to you by your state representative in the fall. If you’re in a non-member state, you will need to purchase your own manual from our shop. If you select the online version, a manual access code will be sent in your confirmation email. Once you have your access code, simply click on the “Manual Downloads” tab on the CSLP website, enter your code, and proceed to the artwork and programming ideas. Remember to look at our Rules of Use.
My state isn’t a member of CSLP; can my library still join?
Yes! The yearly cost of membership for an individual library is $20 and it’s been that amount for decades. The cost of membership is added to your online order based on your address. For those in non-member states, if you order more than once from our store, this fee will be added to your order every time. We’re happy to remove it from your order if you contact us at [email protected]
How do I place an order in your store?
You no longer need to login to place an order in our shop. You can checkout as a guest without logging in. If you have an account, you may use the Log In button in the top right corner and you can enter your credentials. Logging in allows you to review your history of orders, to see quantities, items ordered, etc. If you would like an account to start saving your history, you can Register Here. We recommend that a generic library email account is used to register so that this can get passed on when staff transition. If you’re having login trouble, please contact [email protected].
How can I access the programming manual for your current and past themes?
If you are in a member state, your state library agency pays annually for your public library to have membership in CSLP and to have access to our online programming manual at no charge to most public libraries. Annually, your State Rep should email your library your state’s code for online access. Manuals are accessible from our home page. Navigate to the top orange menu bar and use the Manual Downloads pull down to choose which year’s programming manual to access. Insert your current year’s code to access the current year, as well as the Summer Program Archive.
If you are in a non-member state (AK, CA, CT, FL, IA, IL, LA, MA, MN, NH, OR, or RI), each library outlet where our theme will be used will need to purchase a membership and online manual access annually. That allows the library to use that year’s theme and provides access to the programs and artwork. Our theme year begins in October when our store opens and ends in September. Purchase your annual membership and program manual in our shop.

I need to return/exchange an item, what should I do?
Please refer to our Store Policies, 3. Returns/Exchanges Policy. We are a seasonal store, so the sooner you can alert us to an issue, the better.
If your order was damaged during shipping, please take photos of the damage and notify us ASAP at [email protected]
I need a W9, where can I find one?
Can I place an order directly with a PO?
We cannot accept POs as an order. All orders must be placed in our online store. We recommend that you create your cart, then select the Get a Quote radio button under the credit card processing area during checkout. This will generate a quote document you can use to get authorization for a PO. Once you get approval, contact us and we will process your order. You can then pay by credit card or ask us to invoice your organization.
I need a voucher or PO signed, who can help?
Please email your voucher or PO for signature to [email protected]
I would like to track my shipment, where can I find this information?
Your tracking number will be sent to you in your shipment notification. If you can’t find this, please contact us at [email protected]
Please note: Our primary shipping agent is UPS. Please contact us as soon as you become concerned that your shipment has not arrived.
Do I need a lift-gate?
You might need a lift gate service if you placed a large order arriving by freight shipment and you don’t have a loading dock. Please talk to our warehouse if you have questions about this service: 888-910-2757.
